Paper sample. Daniel Rybakken 2017 (image by Japan Creative)

JC 19 is a paper installation made to display the knowledge

and possibilities of the Tokushu Tokai paper factory in Japan

and the medium. Instead of a flamboyant display of shape and

colour, the installation presents a poetic softness and subtleness.

In a new and unique way a gradient is created durning the creation

of the 30 meter long paper, stretching between two related

colour hues. At the historic Palazzo Litta in Milan the result of

this collaboration is hung as an continuous loop over the head of

the visitor. R&D by Jin Kuramoto.

Compendium Plate, Daniel Rybakken 2017 (image by Luceplan)

Compendium Plate is a wall or ceiling light, and is a natural

extension of the Compendium family, sharing the outer

profile of the extruded aluminium profile. The light creates a

strong and powerful light output. As it has a large

homogenous illuminated surface, it is still soft and glare-free.

"The Amisol project is about making a pendant light that occupies

a large physical space with a minimal physical volume. A translucent

white film or a metallized mirror membrane is stretched inside of a

circular aluminium profile. Like a solar sail, an incredibly powerful

light source project a beam of light onto the large, almost

weightless disk, either diffusing or reflecting the light. Thin rods

connect the two main elements together. By altering the length and

the connecting points of the two supporting wires the rotation of the

disc can be set in any angle.” Daniel Rybakken

(Amisol was developed under the project name Sol_03)
